walking
The trails we walk and hike in Bryce Canyon are unlike anywhere else. The stunning hoodoo formations are a wonder of geologic design. Consisting of 4 distinct rock types, the magic of erosion has created the strange and mysterious towers, that we will walk among. This trip is for walkers of all abilities and hikers may choose the distance and challenge of hikes to enjoy.

connection
You can walk and hike in Bryce Canyon with anyone, so what makes The Walking Connection's hosted adventure special? In a word, People! Start with hosts, Jo Ann and Gene Taylor. They are co-founders of the organization and have been leading adventures around the world for 30 years! But secondly, YOU and your fellow guests. There will be new faces with well-worn hiking boots, smiling faces with brand new boots; ALL are welcoming and friendly adventurers looking to share a fun few days in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Bryce Canyon Adventure Highlights

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
This getaway is yours to enjoy as you wish – walk as much or as little as you like! It’s a great time to meet other like-minded walkers from across the US and Canada. We'll welcome you with a hosted pizza party on your first night followed by a casual dessert and continental breakfast.
NO CROWDS!
Our Bryce Canyon Adventure offer walks and hikes among the hoodoos. We choose hikes that allow you to have a personal experience with the Canyon. Our itinerary was built with social distancing in mind, 20 years ago. We avoided crowds then, and we still do it now.

Level of Activity
Each day is your personal journey. Spend it alone, with close friends or new-found walking kindred spirits. Walk a distance and pace comfortable for you. Tag along or lead a pack. We'll provide you directions and details and walk the trails alongside you. We're here to enhance your Bryce Canyon adventure.
"ON YOUR OWN, BUT NOT ALONE"
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19
The Walking Connection recognizes the new safety and virus anti-transmission protocols. In every phase of our operation inside the National Park, we will adhere to any rules or protocols established by the park.
Secondly, we will require all guests to wear appropriate face masks during all social functions. Wearing a mask is not optional. If you are not comfortable or unwilling to wear a mask, please do not participate in the tour. This does not apply to hiking or the trails.
Finally, new rules or best practices may be implemented with regard to the lodge, restaurants or any Walking Connection function. We will provide you with information as it becomes available and you will be requested to follow any new procedures when they are announced or separate yourself from the group.
Level of Comfort & Cabin
YOUR COMFORT IS UNDER THE PINES
The sleeping accommodations on this journey are US National Park Lodge quality. Though in some respects they are rustic, the rooms are all en suite, and come with lots of personality.
The Lodge at Bryce Canyon is the ONLY lodge located inside of Bryce Canyon National Park.Although star ratings are not particularly helpful when it comes to remote lodges and camps, expect 3-star accommodations and services with zillion-dollar views throughout your journey.
Western Cabins - from $498 per person/double occupancy include - Spacious room with two queen beds, full bath, kitchenette with mini-fridge, coffee pot and front porch with rockers.
Bryce Canyon - Weather Happens!
July is a monsoon month. As such, the weather is volatile and entirely unpredictable, especially while on the trail. Summer temps can range from the high 40's at night to mid 80's during the day. The climate is mostly dry with possible monsoon storms in the late afternoon.
Just a few words about safety. It's a shared responsibility, yours and ours. We take it very seriously. Your safe return home is our top priority. We love talking about it. If you have a question or concern, please ask or tell us anything.
