Come Walk, Run, Hike, Trek,

Trail Run and Peace Walk With Us!

This is the African wildlife safari that dreams are made of!

Congratulations for accepting the challenge of Trekking Table Mountain or Running the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon! Whether you accomplish your goal by fundraising for a non-profit cause, are along to support some who is hiking, walking or running; or if you are simply an outdoors enthusiast who likes being around other active people, this custom African wildlife safari is designed just for you.

"I have traveled and led adventures throughout 10 countries in Africa and over the years I’ve done more safaris than I can count. With all those trips comes a lot of experience. I must say that I believe we have outdone ourselves with this South African Wildlife Safari. It has just the right balance of luxury and adventure, guided time and open space! From the ocean to the mountains, the savanna to the rivers, from private wild animal reserves to the simple sophistication of “sundowners” over a hippo/crocodile pond with warm acquaintances and new-found friends, this safari is one of, if not the best we have ever created."                ~Gene Taylor, Co-Founder~

Think Adventure Suits YOU?

Here's What You Can Do In 10 Days In South Africa With Your Teammates & iConquer!

Visit the Cape of Good Hope! Then, cage dive with sharks, go wine tasting, walk with penguins, run a marathon, tour Cape Town, Summit Table Mountain, party with friends, see a rhinoceros, giraffe, lion, cheetah, gazelle, baboons and wildebeest all in one day, dine in a "boma," hear lions roar in the distance as you sleep, see curious monkeys sway the treetops, take a picture of elephants, gazelle, impala and zebra with just one shot, sleep in a permanent tented camp, sip a beverage as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean, dine while nearby hippos tussle and snort at each other, and perhaps the biggest thrill of all, see the circle of life unfold between predator and prey. Lion, wild dogs, leopard, cheetah, hyena, crocodile -- impala, buffalo, zebra and gazelle. Ground scavengers and birds finish whatever is left. More things: Go to a rooftop party, walk the Indian Ocean coastline, dine al fresco in a South African vineyard, imagine you're in a movie with Meryl Streep or Robert Redford, visit Robben Island and walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela. And that is only following the outlined activities! There is also plenty of free time for you to explore on your own.

It's been too long but I wanted to thank you both for arranging a great family adventure in Peru for us. Peru is amazing and Javier and Yessica were compassionate and enthusiastic hosts; they really taught us, cared for us (especially me!) and immersed us in the culture and history of the land. I’d go back again!

Next trip with WC is going to be for Kathy and me.

South Africa Safari Adventure Itinerary

Many of the planned activities are organized according to availability, events or seasonal dates, appropriate weather conditions or the discretion of our guides. We make every effort to provide the experience described in the itinerary with the understanding that some things may change.

The location of our Safari Camp & Lodge require separate air transfer and airfare. The group will fly a nationally owned regional airline from Cape Town to Hoedspruit and from Nelspriut to Johannesburg. The current airfare is $695USD and can be arranged with your tour, by iConquer/Walking Connection. If you prefer, we can provide the recommended flights if you would like to book it with your international airline ticket.

If you choose to book your own ticket, we will require you to purchase it by a specific date. There are no refunds or credits from the safari portion of your trip for missed or delayed flights.

Our home is high in the treetops, accessible only by elevated wooden walkways, the old-world luxury tents of Buffalo Camp are the closest you’ll get to living alongside African wildlife.

Our safari vehicles are at the ready and your safari begins the moment we leave the airport. It's just a short ride to the camp baring any wildlife sightings along the way.

This luxury tented camp, in Kapama Private Game Reserve is adjacent to Kruger National Park. It is a quiet and intimate lodge where you can unwind in the shade of the trees and simply absorb the surrounding peace.

The perfect luxury South African Safari escape.

Days 1 – Oct. 19 - Cape Town To Hoedspruit

Kapama Private Reserve - Buffalo Tented Camp

Board our private custom fitted 4 x 4 safari vehicles and head out to the preserve to "see what we can see." "Wake up" beverages in your tent to get you started, game drive, then breakfast. After, free time to relax and explore the camp, spa treatments or a bush walk led by your safari guide.

Two game drives a day. Accompanied by a skilled ranger and tracker, you can expect to encounter a diverse range of animal and bird species. Encountering lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo is possible on every safari.

Big game is cool and always exhilarating, but there are many other smaller species that are also captivating, and birding enthusiasts will be delighted at the approximately 350 species of bird recorded on the reserve. It’s likely you will see wildlife such as antelope, Vervet monkeys, and possibly a cat or two.

For those that would like to venture on foot, you can experience the African bush under the guidance of a skilled ranger. Your guide will point out the 3-P's of a walking safari, Prints, Plants and Poop! Learn about the medicinal plants, insects and birdlife along the way, and share traditional tracking skills such as using animal footprints and scat to identify wildlife.  A remarkable quality of the African bush is the soundtrack. It's a cacophony of trills, hoots, snorts and rumbles if you open your ears and close your mouth while walking through the bush.

We will experience this place in a way that harmonizes with the natural tempo nestled in this magical corner of Kapama Private Reserve.

Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. The park is designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve (the "Biosphere."

"To me, one of the most striking things about safaris in Kruger is the close proximity to the animals you can get. Here, more than any other place in Africa, I have replaced my telephoto lens with a smaller lens because we are so close to individual animals, be they big cat predators, gigantic male bull elephants or a lone grazing wildebeest.

Gene Taylor.

On Day 5 we will depart early morning and spend the day on safari in the park. We’ll explore by 4-WD safari vehicles to experience the intricacies of this area which is in a different region of the park. Fantastic!

On Day 6, we will depart early morning and spend it in the park. We'll return to the lodge for lunch and you will have the afternoon to relax, reflect and prepare for your departure the next morning. (Optional afternoon game drive is available at extra cost).
