Adventure Trail and Via Ferrata Highlights
"I had
no idea I could do anything like this."
Have you always wanted to
do a ZIP LINE? Well now you can and that is only part of the
excitement! You can experience an exhilarating excursion to
the summit of Mt. Nimbus, a mountain unnamed until last year.
Deep in the Purcell mountains, the Bobbie Burns mountain guides
designed and created a Via Ferrata (Italian for "Iron Way")
adventure like no other.
The vertical pathways feature
permanently fixed cables for safety and metal rung ladders to
ease movement. Offering remarkable views and a vertical glimpse
of the mountains you never thought possible, this is something
for everyone! No special skills or prior experience is
required. Just your sense of adventure.
"If this route was
in Boulder, Colorado or some other U.S. mountain town, there
would be thousands of people here each and every day."
New for 2009,
the guides have added a glacier walk using crampons and ice
axe to build on the excitement of the Via Ferrata route. Detailed
instructions on use of equipment and technique are all part
of this experience.
"I had
no idea I could do anything like this. I proved to myself that
anything is possible. My guides, were inspirational and I knew
I was safe throughout. Each corner was mind blowing. I'm bringing
back my whole family next year."
